SEMINARS ON GLASS IN EDUCATION BUILDINGS

Glass Issues in Educational Buildings

Key Seminars

A major concern for schools and other educational establishments has to be the potential of a serious glass-related accident. It is estimated that in 2004 there were 58,000 hospital treated accidents and ten fatalities involving fixed glass. School management has a statutory responsibility to ensure compliance with Regulation 14 of the Workplace (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations 1992.There have been several insurance claims against schools in 2010 and the H&S Commission has issued Improvement Notices.
The H&S Regulations are intricate. We help by holding a series of seminars which explain in simple terms what the regulations are, how to recognise key risks, how to ensure compliance and how to execute a cost-effective remedial plan. In addition the content of these seminars covers glazing issues relative to study environment, student comfort, reducing heat gain / energy usage and carbon footprint.
